Dentistry
Did you know that of all dogs and cats two years of age and older, 70-85% have some degree of periodontal disease? If dental disease is left untreated, it can lead to bad breath, pain, tooth loss, tooth root abscesses and serious medical conditions involving the heart, liver and kidneys. Pets cannot brush their own teeth and thus rely on us to keep their teeth and mouths healthy and treat any problems that arise.
The Inverness Animal Hospital takes dental care seriously. We offer complimentary dental exams with our annual visits, as well as full dental cleanings under general anesthesia using the most contemporary dental equipment. Our highly trained certified veterinary technician will provide these procedures as well as guide you through the care and maintenance after cleaning and advise you about our dental products and diets.
Dental X-Rays
In addition to visual examination of the teeth and gums, we also have the capability through dental x-rays to see what lies below the surface. We can take images of the roots and dental structures to locate diseases such as abscesses and root deterioration as well as cancerous growths and treat as necessary.
